On Saturday 15 November, the public will get the rare opportunity to be involved in the release of three kiwi chicks on Rotoroa Island. Kiwi will be released by The Rotoroa Island Trust and Auckland Zoo at 11am and 1pm. The event will include kiwi conservation talks, getting up close to kiwi chicks and a free sausage sizzle. On the 1st January 2015 the Supporters of Tiritiri Matangi are celebrating the sesquicentennial(150th birthday) of the Tiritiri lighthouse. With such a spectacularly long reaching past, it is a rare opportunity to see this stunning lighthouse light up and to hear the fog horns blasting.
